Valiair Expands Charter Operations with Acquisition of Superior Air Charter

Valiair has completed the acquisition of Superior Air Charter, a Part 135 on-demand charter operator based at Dallas Love Field. The deal adds three Embraer Phenom 100 very light jets, seven crew members, and the full management team to Valiair's charter division.

The deal at a glance

Valiair completed its acquisition of Superior Air Charter on February 24, 2026. The transaction transferred three Embraer Phenom 100 very light jets, seven crew members, and the company's operational management team to a Valiair subsidiary.

Superior Air Charter operates under FAA Part 135 as an on-demand air carrier from Dallas Love Field (DAL) — one of the busiest business aviation airports in the United States. The company holds an ARG/US Platinum safety rating, the highest safety audit rating available in private aviation.

This is Valiair's second major acquisition in two months, following the purchase of Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc. (SACI) in January 2026.

Why this acquisition matters

The deal expands Valiair's charter division in three important ways.

Fleet growth in the very light jet segment. The three Phenom 100 aircraft — manufactured between 2009 and 2010 — are proven, efficient platforms for short-haul business travel. With four passenger seats, Wi-Fi, and a cruise speed of approximately 390 knots, the Phenom 100 is well suited for regional routes where speed and convenience matter most.

A strategic base in Texas. Dallas Love Field positions Valiair to serve the Texas Triangle — Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio — along with surrounding cities including Midland, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Memphis. Texas is one of the largest business aviation markets in the United States, and Love Field is a preferred airport for private aviation operators.

An experienced team. This was not just an asset purchase. The crew and management team that built Superior's operational track record transferred with the deal. That continuity is important — it preserves the institutional knowledge and safety culture that earned Superior its Platinum rating.

About Superior Air Charter

Superior Air Charter traces its roots to JetSuite, a private aviation company founded in 2006 by Alex Wilcox, a JetBlue founding executive. Originally named Magnum Jet, the company rebranded to JetSuite in 2008 and launched flight operations in 2009 as one of the first operators of the Embraer Phenom 100.

JetSuite attracted notable investors over the years, including the late Tony Hsieh, former CEO of Zappos, and Qatar Airways, which acquired a minority stake in 2018. In 2016, JetSuite spun off JetSuiteX — now known as JSX — the popular semi-private hop-on jet service.

The company paused operations in April 2020 due to the pandemic and reemerged under the Superior Air Charter name later that year. Since resuming flights, Superior has operated from Dallas Love Field with three Phenom 100s and built a reputation for reliable, efficient VLJ charter service in the Texas and South Central region.

Across its full operational history under both names, the company has safely completed more than 111,000 flights.

How Superior fits into the Valiair charter division

Superior Air Charter will operate alongside Nextair, Valiair's Tennessee-headquartered Part 135 charter operation. Onward Jets serves as the charter broker marketing both operations.

Together, the combined Valiair charter fleet now includes approximately five Embraer Phenom 100 aircraft across two bases — giving the division broader geographic coverage and more scheduling flexibility for clients.

The charter division complements Valiair's core aviation services, which include aircraft trust services, FAA U.S. Agent for Service, aircraft import and export, and aircraft sales and acquisition support.

A growth trajectory

The Superior acquisition marks the second major deal Valiair has closed in early 2026. In January, the company acquired Southern Aircraft Consultancy Inc. (SACI), adding more than 550 aircraft to its trust portfolio. Valiair and its subsidiaries now manage over 1,100 aircraft across more than 80 countries.

These moves reflect a deliberate strategy: building a full-service aviation group that can support international aircraft owners and operators across registration, compliance, charter, and transactions — all under one roof.

Marco Reininger, CEO of Valiair, said the acquisition represents a significant step for the charter division's growth in the very light jet segment. Dallas is a strategic operating location that positions the company to serve the Texas market, and the Superior crew and management team bring decades of operational excellence that align with Valiair's standards.
